Dr. Robert M. Campbell, Jr. was a renowned pediatric orthopedic surgeon, especially noted for his invention of the Vertical Expandable Prosthetic Titanium Rib (VEPTR). This award, established in his memory, honors Dr. Campbell and his many accomplishments in the early onset scoliosis field.
The Campbell Award will honor a physician or scientist for outstanding contributions to the care of children with early onset scoliosis. Contributions would include innovative concepts, techniques, devices, or other major contributions which have significantly improved treatment outcomes for these children. While any physician or scientist is eligible to receive the Campbell Award, special consideration will be given to senior thought leaders.
A plaque will be awarded and the recipient’s name announced at the Annual International Congress on Early Onset Scoliosis on November 16, 2018. The recipient is encouraged to attend the meeting as registration fees shall be waived. If the recipient is unable to attend the meeting due to health or other unusual circumstances then a video connection will be allowed. Airfare for spouses/accompanying persons will not be reimbursed.
